The fact that I am so active leaves me open to overuse injuries and muscle imbalances around the shoulder joint. I had a vague sense of instability and low grade pain for years. I just chalked it up to the abuse I had delivered. I was o.k. as long as I was still in the game. Over the last year the pain changed location and intensity, and had me concerned. I modified form, decreased volume, and decreased frequency of activity until I had to face the fact that this was "just not cutting it anymore". I talked to a buddy of mine who had just undergone rotator cuff surgery if he was happy with his orthopeadic surgeon. He was indeed and told me that he was back playing golf pain free. I guess I needed to make a phone call to this Dr! |

I am an active 44 year old. I played alot of football and baseball growing up and still like to chuck it hard whenever I can. I have always had very physically demanding jobs. I like to stay as fit as possible lifting weights, running, rollerblading, stairstepping, boxing, and pick-up basketball. I relax by playing golf a couple times a week if possible. I have been fortunate! |
