It's been just about 3 weeks since my surgery and things seem to be going well.  I have to be in my sling for 4 weeks before starting PT which has been the most difficult part as I feel ready to begin rehab...my motion is good, I don't feel terribly uncomfortable, even sleep has been manageable. The pain is very minimal just a little stiff with a twinge hear or there if I move my arm to far from my body.  I have been back to work for two weeks and my Dr. endorsed cardio excersice on the stationary bike. This has been a godsend since I had been used to running approx 20 miles a week prior to the surgery. The cardio excercise has definitely helped my mindset!  The fear I have at this point, is how long it will take to get the ROM---my goal is to golf this Fall!  We'll see....

Its 2 days after surgery and still managing through the pain. The nights seem to be the worst and right after the pendulum swings. Staying with the pain meds and staying optimistic...

I will have my surgery on May 17th after 8 weeks of intense PT in hopes of avoiding going under the knife.  The realization that I came to in making the decision to go ahead with the surgery is the fact that I have been active and athletic my whole life and I don't want to inhibit my activities at age 34!  The fact that I won't be able to golf or play tennis for 4 months is depressing... I'm hoping that this is a success but I think I am in for a procedure and process that is more intense than I had hoped for.  I'm going in with my eyes wide open as my father is a PT that has rehabed many...unfortunately he is in Ohio and I am in Atlanta.  I think the thing that I am most uneasy about is how long the immobility will last ( 4 weeks in a sling) and how much of and impediment that will be to my daily life...more to come.....
