Ok, well had the pre surgical visit today. Here's what I was told, when I asked questions of my doc and im a gas!! 1. He said try to have a recliner (aint got one) he said I would do well with one but to do what I can 2. There is no implant for pain managment of a med pump, he offered me a nerve block that would last 18-24 hrs... so no pain pumps he does not use them..... 3. There is no ice cooler for the shoulder he hasnt used them in years...OK damn it, now I am getting WAYYYYYY TO WORRIED about this damn surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4. He said he wants me off all pain meds within 1 week of surgury, I am fine with that too, but what if there is a high level of pain.... man is ther not one up side to this?? Well 6 days and counting....... |

SON OF A BISKET!!!! i was just content n happy as I could be until this very moment, I just read the description Andy placed above the surgury pics he posted..... I have been fine with the word ANCHOR this entire time, other sites I have seen that discuss the process say a BIO_DEGRADABLE ANCHOR is used! I am ok with that, knowing the health field I know full well it means my body will absorb the item over time and it will not longer exsist within me! Then I read the word SCREW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Hi all, I'am Mechaella "Mecca" for short and this is my SLAP Tear journey. First I wish to say thank you to everyone that has already shared there triumphs an tribulations, I am sure they will help me along the way. Well my introduction all started well at work on August 13, 2006 at 5:30 A.M. A combative patient hyper extended my elbow and shoulder in ways that god never intended the human arm to go. No I didn't hear that tale tell sign of a "pop" but I felt instant sheering pain. No I am no big tough guy when stuff hurts it hurts, but I am no cry baby either and often forgo as much pain meds as possible. Well after work I was sent to the hospital, put in a sling and told I had to report 1st thing Monday morning to the workers comp doc's. O.K. MAN DID THAT WEEKEND SUCK! |
