Hi All I am now 10 weeks post op and doing not too bad have had 3 weeks of physio and will be starting strengthening exercises as of next week .I am now driving short 10 mile journeys which is great as I was slowly going mad ! I have a pulley home with me to do exercises it hangs on top of the door this is really good and has helped me a lot at getting my range of motion back , every day I can do a bit more and am managing to sort of get my hand to my jeans back pocket if you know what I mean .My scar is really bothering me just now though it is hot and sore to the touch I’m sure it is all part of the healing process and I think it is the internal stitches starting to be rejected by my body and that is causing the irritation so hopefully it will pass soon . |

Hi 36 yr old female 2 children Op anterior stabilisation of right shoulder capsular shift subscapularis advancement open repair I am 2 weeks post op and feel not too bad ,over the last couple of days I have seen a big improvement in my pain ,I’m not so sore in the morning when waking and managing to do do more with less pain and fatigue. My only grievance has been my sling which has been very uncomfortable to say the least I had taken to wearing my cryocuff all the time as it was that bad. I decided to contact my local physio dept and they fitted me with a new one which is really comfy it is called ACTIMOVE if anyone is interested my original one was all Velcro and a nightmare to get out of with the strong Velcro fastenings on the arm and it was really digging into my shoulder blade and neck , this actimove one is brill has a cotton thin sling so not too hot padding on top thick sling on top and waist with easier Velcro and a popper fastening at the front of the arm so you can just pop it open and your arm comes out without having to remove the whole sling so great for exercises. It also has a moveable padded bit at the back so you can move it to cover the area that is rubbing in my case the shoulder blade. |

Hi everyone Had my surgery on Friday was taken down to anaethetists room and given my cath and a drug to make me chill while they put in the nerve block in my neck , I remember him drawing on my neck then the injection then I was asleep. Woke up for the first time not feeling sick after an anaesthetic so that was good was in a lot of pain can’t really remember much but by 10pm my nerve block had wore off and I was in agony the anaesthetist had said it would last till the next morning but it did’nt , anyway was given ora morph which did’nt work then I was given diclofenic and that did the trick and I got a sleep of sorts . |

Hi My troulbe first started 2 1/2 years ago when i broke my elbow in 4 places i slipped and landed on it , in short it was wired back together and after i had got the use back and started doing things and sleeping on that side i started to have terrible pain in my shoulder and this clunking and clicking with anything i did overhead. After 18 months of xrays, ultrascans, mri with arthogram then a arthroscopy they finally found that i had a tear of the labrum and multidirectional instability , this is on my right shoulder i am due to get it operated on in the summer time where the are repairing it doing an open procedure , i have been told that after the long wait i have had being diagnosed that this is the best option with better sucess rate .I have been through a lot so far already with physio on my shoulder and that was painful enough so i can imagine how hard it is going to be with my shoulder at least i'm left handed so that helps . I've been told i'll be in a sling for 6 weeks and not able to drive for god knows how long after that . |
