6 days After SLAP repair surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi everyone!!!

6 days ago I had a SLAP repair done on my left shoulder. I have a question. The pain has been pretty tolerable but today the pain has gotten worse. Today I saw my orth and he took off the cover that holds the cold pack in place. I'm still wearing the immobilizer but not that removable bulky part. Can that be whats making the pain so worse? I woke up out of a dead sleep and the pain is a real intense dull ache in the front. Any suggestions will be appreciated.....
Thank You
Carlo

I am almost 3 weeks post op from my slap repair. My suggestion is to use the pain meds, also as strange as it sounds get up and take a walk to get the blood flowing if possible. It really helped me get my mind off the dull aching pain. Ice as alway will sometime help with that pain

Did your doctor let you remove that wedge? I think it's an important piece to have there.

I had those aches for the first week or so, sorry...I can't help you and tell you what's causing them. I figured it was my muscles throbbing from being kept in that odd position. I can tell you that where the throbbing was, was exactly where my muscles turned rock hard. It's taken lots of massage at PT to get them back to normal.

The first couple of weeks are very painful and you will have good days/hours and bad ones too. Use the pain meds. I was on them all the time for a good 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Then I used them at night to sleep and used aleve during the day. Hang in there...the constant pain does go away.

Get Traumeel tablets, they work wonders for pain and inflammation, bonus they are 100% homeopathic.

I've played sports and high level of competition and any trainer will recommend them...
