I wouldn't worry too much. In my first few weeks, I did a few things, opening car doors, grabbing for something that was falling, etc, that put me in major pain and I was freaking out that I tore out an anchor. But it was fine. I think, when you tear an anchor out, there's no mistaking that you've torn an anchor out. I've heard people here talk about having done it and it sounds pretty nasty. They could feel the anchor grinding on the cartilage when they moved their arm. If it's just painful, I wouldn't worry about it.
