Thanks for the reply. I live in New Jersey by the shore. I actually do have a desk job now. I am a computer technician. No more manual labor for me thank god.

I guess I need to suck it up and just do it. I am just very paranoid about surgery in general. I really do not enjoy the sensation of being put under.

I understand there will be pain but pain will be nothing new to me I have been in some significant pain between the left and right shoulders.

You also mentioned finding the right doctor. I will be honest I hear a lot about the HSS (Hospital For Special Surgery) but I did contact them out of curiosity and I am not positive but I was pretty sure they said they were out of network. Money is very limited for me as I am trying to save up to move out with my girlfriend. The doctor who I am seeing now for the issue seems like a very smart doctor. Compared to the other orthopedic surgeons I saw he makes them look like dimwits.

He is indeed the doctor who did my knee which I am not overly happy with. The funny thing is he is the only doctor I have seen who is in my network who I actually think can fix my issue. A close friend of mine who is my age who was a wrestler for Rutgers went to him to fix his shoulder. He is about a year out and still has some issues with ROM and pain but he also went back to drumming and wrestling 2 months post op.

He told me to go for it. I really feel limited to seeing a doctor who is in network with my insurance provider as like I said money is limited for me.

I still try and work out everyday doing band work outs for my shoulders as well as my knee. It probably isn't fair to compare a knee to a shoulder.

I assume the recovery from a slap repair is 6 months to have basic function and around a year to be able to lift weights and feel somewhat normal? I am ready for the pain but I do not think I am ready for the mental battle. It has been frustrating thus far just accepting I cant do anything.

Any recommendations or suggestions will be appreciated. I am even willing to diet and take supplements to get the best results lol.
