Well, I got tired of the pain and ache and restricted activities and scheduled my surgery for May 22. I am really confident about the surgeon -- he is well known for his shoulder work at University of Tennessee Hospital. He never mentioned anything about my age (55) so it obviously wasn't a problem for him. I am female, about 120 lbs., and small boned, with diagnosed osteoporosis but fairly active.

My biggest worry is having to be off my Celebrex for a week before surgery -- I've been living on it 2X a day for years for osteoarthritis and it really works. Oh well, it won't be forever.

I am having a nerve block with sedation, and will order the foam bed wedge others have spoken of using. I appreciate all the comments on this site concerning what to expect with surgery -- it's been very helpful. I'll check in and let you all know how it's going.

Good luck to you, too. By your screen name I take it you are more of an athlete than I am. Let me know how you do after surgery -- it will be interesting to compare recoveries. (You notice I didn't say anything about it being fun )
