Hey guys....I had surgery 9 months ago to repair a slap tear in my shoulder. The Dr. informed me that the rotator cuff was fine and not damaged. He also told me that it would be about 8 months before everything was fully healed being that it was a pretty severe tear. My question now is that my shoulder feels ok except when I cock my arm back forcefully to throw anything. There is a good amount of pain. Is this normal? I know the Dr.(workers comp) will tell me it needs more time, but I think something else is wrong. Any suggestions as to what it might be....Fyi..On Sept 22 2007 I fell from a 6 ft ladder at work. I fractured my radial head in my rt elbow and tore my labrum. As stated above, I had the shoulder repaired 9 months ago. The elbow developed a 40degree contracture. In may of this year, the Dr. performed a capsulectomy to release the contracture. That didn't help as now the contracture is 35degrees. I am told now that it is what it is. It will not get any better. I am tired of this dynasplint as it isn't helping along with OT every single day. Could my elbow contracture be causing the pain in my shoulder when it is cocked back? Thank you in advance...

I started having pain again 12 months post op. Went through the routine of meds and cortisone shots. MRI showed inflamation in my shoulder. Had second surgery last week. Ended up being two different tears and bone spur. I new something was really wrong because I couldn't sleep at night or get through the day without pain. My suggestion to both of you is to get you shoulder checked out again.
