My tear was considered a type 1 slap tear, haven't mentioned that yet, 1 other thing to mention to people that are getting this surgery, for about 3 days after surgery my whole body was really swollen, ankles, waist, and back, i went to the er and they told me it was from all the fluid they pumped into me, so for all u soon to get surgery just a heads up

Yea enjoy your last tennis for a while. I was asked to play just 2 days before surgery. I told the 4 some that I could not predict my shoulder function and game, but if they could not get a 4th I would play. I am a 4.0,rating went down, but played with the 4.5 ladies that day. With a strong partner by my side, very few lobs and serves to hit and only 2 sets I had no problems. I actually thanked them for letting me go out with memories of some great tennis. The interesting thing for me throughout the tear and tennis is that certain days and avoiding certain motions, I actually played decently, but on other days it was miserable. Let me know how your day goes if you do play. Just enjoy, enjoy. Sharon

Have fun playing tennis for the last time for a while. I had my surgery on the 13th and played 4 times the week before. Being only a week and a half out, it will be a while beofre I get to play again. When is your surgery scheduled for?

For you tennis players, what do you think is realistic as far as playing again? My doctor told me he would let me walk on a court after 12 weeks but regaining my motion, especially on my serve would take a while. I had a SLAP II tear with 5 anchors and am wondering how long it will be before I play again. Any anyput would be greatly appreciated.
