its been 28 weeks post op of slap tear.Missed college season but recovering for next season. Throwing was brutal about two months ago but finally making process and feeling back to normal extending out to 140 feet. All those other pitchers need to keep working hard as well, it will happen.

I feel for you! I played in college as well and I wish I would have taken care of my shoulder then. I ignored the pain and continue to play daily for fear of losing my starting spot. Sucks we have to go throught that, and that type of pressure is on.

I still play baseball in a mens league, but I think I'll have to sit out this season or maybe coach third or something! I am 14 weeks post op and have no desire to throw at all, much less the strength. Our season starts April 27 and goes through October. Maybe later on I'll get to play.

How did you start your throwing routine again? How soon, and what did you do?

This old man still loves to play the game, and would love to know youor program. I may be fat and out of shape, but God I still love to play!

i know how you guys feel. i hurt my shoulder in the fall of my second season of college ball but i didn't want to say anything to my coach so i pitched thru the pain, and unfortunately i wound up getting cut because my velocity was way down and i wasn't being effective. i dealt with the pain for about 3 years, and finally decided in december, december 14th to be exact to get the surgery. i started throwing at my PT Facility about 4 weeks ago and have been on a 2 time per week program increasing my throws each week. I am at 50 throws now at about 90 feet, i use 15 throws to warm up at about 45 feet, than move back to 90 and throw the rest. i've been working on just extending my arm fully because all last year during summer ball i was short arming my pitches, and i still do occasionaly. My therapist told me i should be able to pitch again this summer, but i'm still cautious to do so, i would like to be back throwing in a game by mid/end of June but we will see, the last thing i want to do is a retear which happened to my friend. I've been doing VERY LIGHT strength training 10-12lbs or less for all my upper body exercies. whenever i get some soreness i always get scared, but I know that my shoulder is still healing and hasn't lifted a weight or thrown a baseball in 4 months so i just ice almost everynight i workout or throw and I ALWAYS do my bands before bed to keep it loose.

I wish you both the best of luck with your rehab, and btw this friday marks 18 weeks Post-Op so if you work hard and stay committed you too can be back in the game and with no pain.
