This is Mikes mom, seems I do more updating than him. He is 9 weeks postop and doing amazingly well. His last OS appt was on Sept 10 and he has one coming up in the next 2 weeks. At the last appt his OS told him he was 2-3 months ahead of schedule. Amazing. He has done better than I thought he would with his recovery and PT. He really has had a text book recovery in the sense that he hasn't had a lot of pain (after the initial first week). Thankfully he has somehow maintained a lot of muscle strength in that shoulder. Before surgery (8-4-08) he could not carry a 12 pack of soda with that arm, and yesterday he picked me up (which needless to say, I weigh more than a 12 pack). He will probably start the external rotation after his next OS appt. Other than that, he has full mobility back in his arm. His surgeon even told him that it is possible that he could be back on the wrestling mat after the Jan to help his boys that he coaches at one of the local high schools prepare for the county meet. Lacrosse is probably a definite for him at this rate. He has been blessed with his recovery and we are thrilled that so far it has been relatively "by the book" in a best case scenario. We still tell everyone about this site and what a blessing it was to find it and how helpful it was and still is.
