Hi all - a friend directed me here as he found it helpful.
My right arm/shoulder has hurt since 1995. I was playing racquetball and when I did a backhand, there was a loud snap and significant pain. I was told by the ER that I had tendonitis in my shoulder. The pain in my arm and shoulder continued. Eventually (in 2004) I had a shoulder MRI which didn't show anything but when they did the scope surgery, there was a tear in the rotator cuff. I assumed that surgery solved it but there has continued to be pain in my arm. It hurts on the outside and underneath of my upper arm. I don't know if it's a tendon or a muscle or if it's a tear. The MRI was never done on my arm. Does anyone have any thoughts on the injury and on what I could do to address it ? Thanks !

Have you ever been diagnosed with tendonitis of the tricep? That is my first thought. Secondly, is the pain toward your shoulder or emlbow?

I have not been diagnosed with tendonitis of the tricep (at least not yet). I've been doing Ibuprofen & heat - would that be it but for maybe physical therapy ? The pain actually runs along the muscle so it's not closer to either my shoulder or elbow.
