Bicep Achy 1 Year, 11 Months ago Karma: 3
At 5 weeks post op, I can't identify any joint pain. But dang if my bicep muscle isn't screaming after tasking the arm for long periods of time.

I know, I know..... well then don't task it.

Do you folks feel bicep pain? This is the most prevalent and annoying for me. Very deep muscle pain, almost like the beginning of a cramp, more than a muscle pull.

Normal? I don't really understand what happens with the muscle when it's reattached.

Thanks,
Shirley

I had a lot of bicep pain the first few weeks of therapy. Just lifting my arm in a bicep curl would make it ache like that.

I'm just past 12 weeks and still feel that type of pain...especially today - super cold weather and then driving a car with a standard transmission....every time you shift you grind your teeth....keep your chin up! Lana

I miss driving my little truck with standard transmission and no power steering. Doc said I can kiss that good-bye for a while - ha!

Always a relief to know I'm not alone with the muscle pain. Doesn't stop me though. I know I'll have to move it, and I know it'll hurt, so I just go with the flow.

Thanks all!

Shirley

im 6 weeks post op and have HORRIBLE bicep pain, and i barely do bicep exercises as therapy. it hurts alot alot, like you said a deep pain. it feels like a huge bruise and now that im out of my sling, people who dont really know me like to touch my arm or laugh and kinda pat me, and i could punch them b/c its right on my bicep and hurts BAD! i think this is normal though from what people say, but its not fun...

Agree. I did a lot of typing today, and I'm sitting here with the ice pack strapped on. I'm mentally dealing with the pain really fine. I know in my soul that it is to be, in order to have a healthy arm again. Coming to accept it is a big part of the process for me. Helps keep me patient as well.

Sorry for the uncomfortable pats on the back. But "pat" yourself - you're doing great!

Happy healing!

Shirley
