Have you had tendonitis since the surgery? I found that as I got back into post physical therapy exercise, my bicep tendon would get very sore. Ice and advil did the trick for me and I had to take things very easy at first.

How near the incisions? Could be nerves repairing post op. How often do you have the pain and under what conditions?

Andy,

The pain started about 8 weeks post op and has not let up.it use to come all the way to the incisions but now its slightly below.the naproxen and flexiril help a lot but when i dont take them it returns within a day.i also have that weird tight brittle feeling as well.ive mentioned it to both my doc and therapist.both came up with tendonitis.I hope i havent torn or re-torn anythgng.whats ur thoughts on the subject?also i cant get my arm behind my back and i still get some pain going straight up with my arm.

Thanks,
Chris

I seriously doubt you have retorn anything. Are you doing bicep curls as part of physical therapy? How much weight are you using?

I had a very hard time getting back into bicep curls. If I pushed at all I would get a little tenderness where you describe. I would rest and back off completely. Then start again very, very slowly. Nothing makes you feel more like a man than doing bicep curls with 3 pound weights. It took a while and I slowly increased the weight.

The arm behind the back is always the last movement to return and it takes a long time. I probably didn't have full, pain free, range of motion until 9 months out. And even now I still have to maintain flexiblity with stretches before I work out.

I'm 5 months post-op from arthroscopic capsule plication, and I've got the same symptoms. Taking a few days off in between workouts has helped.
