Definitely talk to a good lawyer!!!! That is ridiculous. I would sue the pants off them for all of that. I can't understand how people in that industry can be so crude!!! It makes me angry that they are doing all of this to you. I would make them pay for what they did. Make sure you get all your paperwork from the hospital and doctor. You are entitled to that. Get all your ducks in a row and then find a pitbull of a lawyer!!! Good Luck to you. I wish I knew someone in that area.

Colleen,
I wish she'd come it and say, "i'm sorry we did this to you." I'm not a vengeful person, and it would have alleviated it to some degree. They obviously didn't attend the latest malpractice insurance inservice.
And it definitely is not about the money. This institution is hiding behind "public" tag so the cap for suing them is only $200k. Hardly worth it, except to have it on their records, so they have to report it every time they reapply for their licenses and new jobs.

This is typical. They just don't listen to you. I told my last physio that I didn't want her to mention "referral pain" to me at all. That little phrase is an catch all to anyone who does not want to look into matters further. I was told I had damaged the biceps, triceps muscle, and supraspinitis muscles and that the pain I was feeling in the shoulder joint (the only place I was feeling pain) was referral pain from the muscles in my arm. They told me I was imagining it and sent me to a pain management clinic where I was required to see a physcologist weekly for 6 weeks. You have to be insistant, you have to be rude, and you cannot relent until a proper diagnosis is made. In my case it was a large flap tear with a type III slap lesion. It took me a year an a half for this diagnosis. One of the specialists I saw, I lodged a complaint against him with the College of Physicians and Surgeon in Canada. The case is pending.

I'm real sorry you're going through this. Stay as positive as you can because you'll need it to get through the PT! I think it’s crap that someone would even work in a field that involves helping people and then not give 2 Sh*&s. Those are the people that deserve to be reprimanded. Go get em’!!!!

EDog, thanks for the advice. Fortunately, I really like the therapist, as I have worked with her for the last 4.5 months, leading up to this second surgery. That should help.
Spike, I can't believe what I am hearing! They offered a pain service referral to me, and I told them that it is severely premature. I am offended by the whole idea of it! I don't want my pain treated without addressing the underlying cause! Are you sure you are not being mis-treated by the same people I am??? Are you in Oregon, Spike?

I guess you have to fight for your rights in Oregon as well as Canada. Prior to the pain management clinic I was sent to (also before the slap tear diagnosis), I was sent to an occupational rehab clinic for 10 weeks. There they had me pulling, pushing, and lifting weights. I kept telling them it was hurting me too much (went home crying almost every night). Their solution for this was to add more weights! Go figure. At the pain clinic, they also tried to mask the pain with drugs, Lyrica a drug for epileptics, and codeine contin. I was allergic to the Lyrica and developed severe abdominal pain from the codeine. I no longer take anything. Some people that hold our well-being in their hands are lazy, and unfortunately, we have to suffer because of this. But if we are being treated with a lackless manner and disregard, we have to stand up or shut up. It is unfortunate, but true. In my opinion.
