36 hours away (10/27 @ 7:00am). I'm ready to get this over with. This site has been a huge help in preparing. I am feeling really good about everything in front of me. I know what to expect each day including the day of surgery. My biggest fear is the "being put under" part. I am told this is really low risk because it isn't deep sleep. Little happy juice, a nerve block, more happy juice for lights out and occasional gas to keep sleeping. Not deep sleep with a breathing tube etc. No big headaches and naseau. |

You guys are the best. Thanks for the heads-up on post surgery assistance. I am 5 days away now. Friday the 27th at 7:00 is the surgery. I completed my prework on the 20th. I'm glad it was done in advance. I told you you guys I'm the nervous type and it showed in a major way during the pre-work. I misdated all of the papers. I recommend doing paper work in advance for other nervous nellies. The nurses were really cool and got a good laugh watching me fumble around. I promised hugs for all of them after the surgery. |

I first injured my shoulder 18 months ago while surfing. I initially thought the injury was only 6 months old as a result of pitching. However, I kept thinking that my pitching was too consistent to cause such a devastating injury. Then one morning it came back to me. A head first fall that I took near the shore. I remembered thining that my right shoulder burned just as bad as when I had torn my left shoulder while lifting weights some years back. It took several weeks but my right shoulder finally calmed down from the fall and I thought everything was okay. |
