Well where do i begin! i injured my shoulder in a netball accident in january. i was taken to my local hospital when my arm turned purple,ice cold (i mean cold) and i lost all sensation!! Im a 14 yr old girl with no previous history of shoulder problems.

After being examined my the vascular,orthopiedic and neurosurgeons, i was admitted in to hospital were i stayed for 5 days. in this time i had a mri scan,  9 x rays and my arm was permently in a sling. The sling seemed to temorarily improve things, and the mri showed nothing so i was discharged. my arm continued to deterioate until now, where i have 27 degrees movement forward and 19 degrees to the side. my arm cracks everytime i move it and i have constant burning hot pains down my neck and arm. If i write for too long or do any movement for too long my arm goes completly numb. In the last few weeks, I have been having my arm turn ice cold and purple randomly again, and I have developed horrific black and purple bruising all over my shoulder. It has recently come to light that when i woz in hospital they scanned the wrong arm, and it has only now been discovered.

I am currently awaiting an enhanced mri scan and possibly another normal one of the right arm and possibly an ultra sound also. I have a suspected Slap tear involving the biceps tendon (worst kind!) and also a suspeted cervical rib (an extra rib) which could be pressing on nerves etc. So far I have been seen in York hospital by a specialist and he has been stumped, so if this mri does not clear things up I will have to go to manchester and then possibly london or another big hospital. Its really painful as I am too young to have the injected pain stuff so I have only paracetamol and neurofen and am currently averaging 6 a day.
