I thought updates would be more frequent than this but...the first week has been crazy. Remember that I had SLAP repair + Frozen Shoulder Syndrome (FSS). The combination made rehab a little more challenging. FSS requires immediate rehab. SLAP rehab is usually delayed for weeks while anchors heal.
My first rehab was 4 days after surgery. The therapist understtod FSS but wasn't sure about complications caused by SLAP. We had to get my surgeon involved. The next nightmare was the therapy schedule required me to see 4 different therapist over the first 4 visits. Totally UNSAT to me. I convinced my surgeon to "outsource" my therapy yesterday after my second visit that included me educating another therapist! I will see the new therapist this morning (day 8). This therapist is a shoulder expert and will be the only therapist i see from now on. My pain is minimal as I am still taking small doses of prescription pain killer. Sleeping isn't bad on the recliner but it is getting less appealing. Clean-up has included mom help (you guys were all correct - it can be done with little embarrassment for modesty. I will update on new therapist next week. Any questions from anyone? |
