Week 7 was eventful. New ROM exercises were added to my routine. Some of the exercises include a 1lb weight! Not much to write home about? I am glad to be in a position to start strengthening. My range of motion is well ahead of the expected plan based on the severe frozen shoulder syndrome that was found during surgery. I am still cranking out therpay 3 times per day. I was mentally exhausted during week 6 and didnt think I could keep the 3 a day routine going. But a long talk with my therapist and noticable improvement got me through the tough times. I am still out of work because of the volume of therapy that I am doing (It has nothing to do with my SLAP recovery). My surgeon has removed all range of motion restrictions. The only restrictions are to avoid lifting anything over 3 pounds and no pushing objects like tables, desks or stuff like that.
The best news is that I slept in my own bed all week. This took some effort, patience and will power. The first night was really uncomfortable but I made myself stay in bed. This was the third time I had tried to sleep in bed since week 4. I am now sleeping from 10pm thru 3:30 am. I usually get up, stretch my arm to chase the pain, eat a small snack and get another little nap before 6:30. I am glad that I stuck it out this week. Last night was a great nights sleep. I felt like a new man! I have at least 2 more weeks of 3-a-days. I'm going to get it done. Hope everyone else is doing well. Take care. David Discuss this article on the forums. (0 posts) |
