I met with my doctor to discuss how far I have progressed. Overall, the doctor was impressed with how I was able to move my shoulder. I am no longer wearing a sling and I feel much better each day. Yesterday, I went to the gym and ran on the treadmill and did some leg exercises. This is the first time that I have worked out in months. Before my surgury, I stopped lifting to prevent further damage to the shoulde. I just wanted to be careful because I did not know what was wrong at the time. I experience no pain with day to day movements. This is a good thing. I am so happy that I can finally do things with people's assistance. I think I was driving my girlfriend crazy during this process.
Orignally, I was projected to be in PT for 8 weeks. The doctor says I may need less time than he originally thought. During this last four weeks, I constantly peformed the various exercises prescribed by my doctor, i.e. pendelum swings. On of the funniest exercises that I had to do was the "Itsy Bitzy Spider" up the wall. I am not sure if you guys remember that from your childhood. It was challenging at first but after a couple of weeks, I can do it way beyond eye level. Today, I am going to call a couple of PT's to get my sessions started ASAP. I will keep you guys posted.
