This is his mom entering the post-op update.
Surgery was today, thank God it is over and now he can begin to heal. He had two anchors put in. Thankfully his bicep tendon was intact and so was the rotator cuff, although the bicepts tendon was very red and irritated from all the extra stress and movement as he continually dislocated it. He is doing pretty good right now, he's asleep. In the recovery room he was pretty pale looking, even the OS commented on his color. His nerve block has made the side of his face numb, not sure about the arm/shoulder. He can't really feel the ice machine so maybe it is numb. He was in quite a bit of discomfort but now he is sleeping. He had morphine, fentanyl and toradol in the recovery room before taking two vicodin as he was being discharged. Thankfully we got a recliner in preparation for this and that is helping him sleep. So far things are going well. |
