It has been a week since surgery and things are going well.
Today marks the one week after surgery date. Things have been going very well. He has been sleeping every night pretty much through the night. He is down to essentially one pain pill every 5-6 hours. Matter of fact, today was a long stretch without a pain pill. He still sleeps in the recliner although he is going to attempt his bed with the foam wedges soon. I think he has been doing so well because he has been sleeping in the recliner and keeping his activity slow. Saturday was the roughest day yet, required 2 pain pills to back off the pain, but he had been pretty busy. The biggest downfall so far is that he is actually feeling pretty good which lends him to maybe over do. When he returns to school next week, that is the big concern is that he will continue to take it easy. Course, he is covered with a lot of prayer to keep him healing quickly and completely. That is the biggest reason why he is doing so well, prayer and lots of it. We had to go somewhere today and get his sister some shoes, he knows people there (he worked there) and they were amazed that he was one week out of having surgery. Don't know if they would have believed him if I had not been there to confirm it. We go to the OS tomorrow, will have his two stiches out and then onto PT on Wednesday. |
