On 08/05/08 I was at work having a perfectly normal day. My co-workers and I were talking and I was leaned with my back on the cubicle. I had my arms up and slightly behind me and my hands were resting on the ledge. When we were through talking, I step forward and was trying to bring my arm down, when I experienced the worst pain I ever felt in my life. Embarassingly this resulted in an ambulance ride to the ER. After receiving multiple injections of narcotics, I was taken for x-rays where I found the first relieve. As the technician was rotating my arm to get a good image, I felt a clunk and a decrease in pain. I was referred to an Ortho who diagnosed a Slap Tear after a MRI Arthrogram. I am scheduled for surgery this week since I have not gotten better after therapy and injections. My arm keeps catching, resulting in bicep spasms and my range of motion is decreased. What can I really expect after surgery? I see varying information on length of time in a sling and to full strength and range of motion. My employer is not very happy with this injury and stated that I should file this on my private insurance. Needless to say, I got the hidden mesage and I tried not to go to the doctor. However my arm was getting worst not better. After I started treatment, my life at work became very difficult. I am called into the office weekly. I belive they are trying to makea paper trail to justify firing me. I am hoping to get better quicly so they will stop harrassing me.
