Hello all!, I am new to this site, but I am finding it quite helpfull, but I still have some remaining questions. Okay, first I'll start with some backround. I am 17 years old and hve been a level 10 gymnast since i have been 11. So basiclly i constantly abuse my body through my sport. My right shoulder has alwys been a tender area, and about a moth ago it was hurting significantly worse...and to touch( that what startled me). So my mom schedualed an appt with the doctor and I got an MRI the very same day. It turned out I have a SLAP tear. I have been doing PT three times a wee for the past three weeks....My surgery is schedualed for next thursday dec 4. I am not very nervous, ust pretty anxious. I have never had any type of surgery of anestesia. The doctor explained iwill be under general anstisia and have a block ( which im relatively unfamiliar with). I am also with concerned the idea of driving. The doc sayed I must be in the sling for 4 week, no questions asked. I will be on a cruise for that last week of the four leaving dec 27th. I'm a pretty fast healer so I'm hoping i'll be able to remove the sling to get some sun. So I guess primarily my question are....1) will I be able to drive 2) whats anestesia like, and what's a block like? 3).any suggestions for sleeping..like a wedge or something? 4) I will take any help or suggestions that are offered...so help me pleasee! : ))../.....thank you alll Life is love~ Lana Paige
