Hi everyone,

Last fall, I had a surgery for a SLAP tear and torn supraspinatus. My surgeon performed a tenodesis *without* repairing my labrum, and did the RC repair. After surgery, I posted on this forum that I feared my surgery failed because my humerus felt dislocated immediately after surgery.

Long story short, my fears are justified. After trying to rehab for the last 5 months and push through the intense pain I am experiencing, my PT finally conceded that my arm isn't sitting right in the joint. It's obvious because my deltoid is misshaped in comparison to my other shoulder. It looks like atrophy, but it's not. I've got to have something done to repair my "repair"....I just hope something can be done.

I am wondering who the absolute best shoulder surgeon is in the country, and how I can get in to see that person. I'll go anywhere. I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions.

I just went to Dr Jon JP Warner, Harvard Shoulder Institute, professor of orthopaedics at Harvard Medical School. He really is one of the top, if not at the top, shoulder surgeons. He specializes in failed surgeries.

I don't know how easy it is to get an appointment with him. Luckily, my current surgeon was in his fellowship program several years ago, so his referral absolutely paved the way for me to get in. They know each other very well, and my surgeon facilitated the referral. There is also Dr Flatow in New York. And there is a third who I cannot in good conscience recommend to my dog.

Dr. James Andrews in Alabama is supposed to be the best. Or one of the best, anyway.
