Just wondering if I somehow had an unusual number of procedures in one go? I had my op about 10 days ago. was supposed to take around 45 minutes or so, apparently it took 2 hours.
So I had Biceps Tenodesis, Slap Repair, Repair to a near circumferential Bankart Lesion, Rotator Cuff Repair to my Supraspinatus and a bursectomy with a tidy up of the subacromial space. Is it just me or does that mean it was pretty messed up pre op?

The docs cannot always tell what is wrong from preop imaging. Yes there was a lot to repair. It is best to get it all done at once. Good luck on your recovery!

When I went in for surgery for a bicep tenodesis for a slap tear - with a planned SAD, my surgeon told me before they wheeled me away that they would deal with any other tears if they found them once they got a good look inside. I think it's typical.

yeah, he said that to me too, think he was a little pissed afterwards that I'd prepaid, with my insurance the whole op only cost me $500, plus a $450 hospital excess....

Just saw my surgeon. Basically I had a damn good go at pulling my arm off. My entire Labrum was pulled off completely and was hanging off the end of the biceps tendon, which explains the lack of strength in that arm. My supraspinatus was nearly off too and had to be sutured back on. Plus the whole mess had resulted in some bony protusions on the acromicon. Might be a bit more careful next time, and ignore the Japanese orthopedic surgeon when he says bruised biceps tendon and gives me a steroid shot that enables me to finish destroying whatever is broken. Incidentally the same Japanese surgeon said my ankle was sprained...it was broken...walked around on it for nearly a week.

What did you do to cause all this? Yes, I'd forget the Japanese doctor.
