TOPIC: 4 weeks post op and new bruise

4 weeks post op and new bruise 3 weeks, 4 days ago #23952

I just saw my doctor's PA yesterday and he checked my ROM by raising my arm in front of me, straightened, until I winced. I had a repair with one anchor at the 12 o'clock position and a 2 anchor repair a tthe 8 o'clock area in the back. Today I have a fresh bruise in the crevice of my arm pit in front where my operative bruise was. Is this normal?? Is this scar tissue breaking up or something worse? Thoughts? I also ache in the second repair site.

Thanks everyone.

scarletfurie,

Two thoughts....one is you should call your ortho, mention this and ask for his interpretation of your observations. Secondly, surgeries of this type do result in delayed perceived bruising that can be quite profound weeks later (I looked like someone had beat the living you know what out of me a week and a half post-op). Since it takes time for deeper surgical bleeding to reach it's way to a visable level that you recognize, that may be all that you are seeing. Either way it deserves a call for some 'splaynin...
