I had a 2 anchor type 2 SLAP repair done on 5/23, so about 4 weeks ago. I'm doing AMAZING - very little pain and extraordinarily good ROM ( both doctor and PT have never seen someone with such good ROM so soon). My question is - how many post op visits did you all have? I have one 12 days after surgery and am going back for my 6 week in 2 weeks. I would imagine he'd want to see me once more after that?

Glad to hear you're doing so well!

Typically you follow up at (approximately) 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year and if all is good then they'll typically discharge you from their service at that point and to let you know to come back if you develop any problems. Of course that time frame is from the date of surgery.

    Hope that helps.

LOL - I really liked my first surgeon too - I saw him 14 times in 10 months. I cried when he moved away- he knows what has happened. Since this started, I have had 3 primary care docs, seen 5 surgeons (3 actually did surgery), 1 ER doc, 2 pain management docs, 3 PT's... Plus there was the acupuncturist, a reiki person, and counselor.

The only problem is that insurance will cover up to 3 months post-op, then I have to start the specialist co-pay again. And the bills are starting to roll in - $7000 for the surgeon, $4000 for anesthesia, can't wait to see the hospital statement that is under appeal now, or the price of the prosthesis. It is getting close to $200,000 of expenses.
