I had a type 2 slap repair with 2 anchors fixed on January 24th. Along this long recovery path, my shoulder froze. I continued to go to PT and I am now at full range of motion and still need to work on strengthening. About four weeks ago, I developed a tingling in my pinky finger and ring finger. It is not all the time. It usually happens with use. Anyone have any thoughts?

This seems to be a common post op symptom, I still get this time to time and found that stretching out the bicep and forewarm helps. Its just muscles tightening up probably as being fired up in strengthening. Now is a good time to try a massage !

Tingling in those 2 fingers implies ulnar nerve compression. When this happens, check the position of the elbow, and as suggested keep the arms stretched out. Since having surgery, I get this ALL the time and usually once I alter whatever I am doing, it goes away. If it continues, see a doc to have an EMG/NCS to check and make sure their is nothing out of the ordinary. Also be sure to watch shoulder posture, rounded shoulders will provoke any numbness/tingling as it compresses around the brachial plexus in the shoulder.

I mentioned the tingling and numbness of those 2 fingers to the floor nurse the day of my replacement. The orthopedic fellow was in my room within an hour. It is due to compression as Leanne said. He just suggested loosening the sling and allowing the arm to relax. I

Thanks for the replies! I have also had a surgery on the tendon In the wrist and tennis elbow surgery on this arm, so hard to figure if this has been adding to the problem. (although both are much olde surgeries). PT has really been pretty careful with me. I see the doctor on the 13th, so will mention it again, as it is a WC case and I am nearing the end of this journey, in terms of formal PT. I still have a far amount of strength that I will be working on gaining back on my own.
