TOPIC: 4 months post-op slap repair type 2

    4 months post-op slap repair type 2 3 months, 2 weeks ago #23967

I'm just over 4 months of my SLAP TEAR repair. I feel much of the same pain I had prior to surgery. I have all of my range of motion back and about 80-90 percent of strength back. It continues to bother me if I am walking for a while or riding a bike where my arm is just hanging (elbow not resting on something). It does not hurt during any exercise. I'm wondering if the Labrum tear was the actual cause of the pain or just something else they found wrong when they went in. Anyone else have this similar pain scenario? Thanks

    It's not a perfect science....

With the assumption that you have shoulder pain that does not increase with shoulder activity, your problem could be elusive.

You state "It continues to bother me if I am walking for a while or riding a bike where my arm is just hanging," but what is "it?" arm pain? shoulder pain? something else? a combination?

Either you had a repair on something that was not symptomatic (an MRI finding of no consequence), your repair was lackluster or your problem lies elsewhere if what you say is true and the shoulder is ultimately healed (oh yeah, or a combination of the above). Four months is pretty early still, though...

2/60 Failed Supratentorial electrotherapy w/subsequent pancerebral resection
2/89 Bilateral aqueous humor drainage w/complete retinectomy
3/02 Quadralateral proximal extremity resection from gestational thalidomide exposure
