    Hey Everybody,

I've been dealing with shoulder issues for over four years now and have had two arthrograms with no complications. However, I just had my third arthrogram last week and am still feeling substantial shoulder pain. Whereas prior to the contrast injection I had very little pain at rest, there is now a constant ache in my shoulder that does not seem to be improving much.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how long did it take the pain to subside? With my first two arthrograms it took a day or two; in this case, I'm seven days out and starting to get a bit concerned.

    Thanks,
    C10

I have had two, one pre surgery the second 1 yr later after a failed repair and complications. I had no pain on either....certainly one week is too long. Talk to your doc. And I'm curious too....why do you keep getting them???

    Thanks for the input.

I had the first one in 2008 prior to my first surgery. I had the second in 2010 after re-injuring my shoulder. This third one was to diagnose why my shoulder pain has not subsided over the past two years despite PT and other conservative measures.

Left a message for my doctor and should hear back tomorrow. Getting very concerned - can't believe how much worse the pain is! It doesn't seem to be an infection - no redness or swelling - so I don't know what's going on.

Well, at least you got 3 of them. With all the serious issues I have had, I never had one done. I am getting a CT/arthrogram now - kind of like closing the barn door after the horse ran away. Be grateful you are not a woman.

Now eight days since the MR arthrogram and pain is at least twice what it was prior to the contrast injection. Spoke with both the imaging center and my physician and no one has any answers for me.

Just thought I'd give it another shot and see if anyone else has experienced anything similar. The first two arthrograms I had in 2008 and 2010 were a piece of cake, but this time around the pain just won't seem to go away.

    Thanks for any input.
