The sling and pillow are history! It is 6 weeks today from the replacement. I will still need it (not that horrible pillow) for when I get sore and tired, but not 24/7.

I started with the pulleys and cane - just 2 exercises for now. Seeing as this is the 5th round, I find it incredibly tedious and boring. But it is a necessary evil.

The only problem is that I cannot lift my arm at all - only from the elbow. And of course it still is sore and hurting. At least I can eat with my right hand, but have to lean over to get the fork to my face. Not a pretty picture in public.

Now that I think about it, what an ordeal this has been...
11/09 Rt. Rotator cuff repair, slap tear debridement
06/10 Rt. Lysis of adhesions, capsular release, SAD, synovectomy
12/10 Rt. Bicep tenodesis, DCE, SAD, labrum debridement, lysis of adhesions
08/11 Rt. Humeral head resurfacing, capsular release
05/12 Rt. Revision total shoulder replacement
03/13 Rt. Revision reverse shoulder replacement, greater tuberosity reconstruction

    Riderk,

WOW ....6 weeks already! Hard to believe and I agree that getting rid of the pillow is a definite plus! Good luck on getting everything moving again. You deserve a good outcome.

I had my 4 month check up and my surgery shoulder is doing well. My PT upped my weights today and all is stil good...a little sore right now, so I am icing while typing this. Still working on IR and my shoulder blade has been very stiff lately.....always something...haha!

Take care...very hot here in the Midwest ...

That is good that you are progressing.
It is nice to have a little more freedom to move, but I was back in the sling and pillow voluntarily by late afternoon - and it felt GOOD. Plus I chose to sleep with it again and had a much more restful night - who would've thunk? when the doc says wean off the sling, he knows what he's talking about!
