I am just about 6 months out of SlAP 2 with 1 anchor. Dr says I can go back to regular activities. I still have sharp pain on overhead movements especially when at the gym so had another MRI which indicated it could be nothing or could be still be torn. Awesome right especially after rehab, sling, etc, etc. Hoping it is nothing and pain will subside. But I'm just wondering how long people experience pain if any, after Dr. says go back to doing the thing you enjoy doing. How much of that pain is similar to the pain you experienced prior to surgery. Do people still have pain months later? I'm talking minor tears here though. I am sure people still experience discomfort after multiple surgeries and anchors.

It doesn't matter if you have one anchor, 6 anchors or an artificial joint. The pain is in the soft tissue for the most part and any surgery is invasive and traumatic. If it hurts when you move your arm in a particular way or overhead, be kind to yourself and try not do what hurts. Hopefully the pain will fade over time - some people are lucky, with some it takes longer. Good luck!

So are most people who still have pain but are allowed to go back to regular activities doing those activities even if they have discomfort or are people here just stillnot doing stuff if it hurts. My DR. told I can go do the things i want even though I told him I am still in some pain. He said I could still be in pain, but i'm curious if others are having the same experiences.

It was certainly over a year before I reached a point where I felt comfortable on a daily basis.

Andy, Were you back to exercising/activities even though you still had discomfort?
