Hello. I'm glad I found this forum. It's been interesting reading all the stories. I have problems with both my shoulders, but the OS wanted to focus one first, and I picked my right.
I'm 27 and almost 9 years ago I had a Bankarts repair on this shoulder and I recovered fine, didn't get back to 100% but 90%. After 3 or 4 years my shoulder started popping and sounding more like gravel. This trend continued on for both my shoulders.
I stopped playing sports and lifting, trying to reverse whatever was happening. Two years ago I started doing Bikram yoga, which I think helped a lot but I wasn't completely sure so I stopped about six months ago and decided it was time to see a specialist.
So I got a CT scan done with dye which found that the circumference of the labrum(with exception to where the bankart anchors are) is torn. Not really sure if I read it correctly, to be honest. I went back to the OS today and he said that the only surgical option is the Latarjet procedure, which kinda blew me away. This seems like a really major surgery. I have very limited range of motion, have hardly any strength in my arms, and am uncomfortable all the time, but after the last surgery I'm not to willing to just jump into it.
I asked to do physical therapy and am planning on going back to yoga if the physical therapist says its a good idea.
