In addition to PT that is probably not a bad idea. SOT is okay but is not directed at tight shoulder muscles. I would go with a technic(s) targeted at the region in question like conventional manipulation (diversified/motion palpation) in addition to especially NMR (neuromuscular reeducation); a no-frills soft-tissue technic that is somewhat uncomfortable and used for pro athletes to get them back playing ASAP. You can find a practitioner at There are also chiropractic specialist who are board-certified in orthopedics or rehabilitation who would be far better than what you are currently thinking...

2/60 Failed Supratentorial electrotherapy w/subsequent pancerebral resection
2/89 Bilateral aqueous humor drainage w/complete retinectomy
3/02 Quadralateral proximal extremity resection from gestational thalidomide exposure

The thought of even going to see a surgeon again is making me sick to my stomach. I have been in one office or another every month, if not twice, for almost 3 years. When I look at the insurance reimbursement, it is pages long - about 15 screens. Maybe that's why I don't buy everything a "man in white" (sorry for being sexist) says. LOL- one doc had the audacity to even say that to me when he tried to tell me the accident had absolutely nothing to do with my shoulder- "You aren't buying this, are you?" What a slip!!!

I'll definetly look around for a chiropractor. My initial thought was that they are going to stretch something that should not be stretched at this point in my recovery. But I will try to look for someone specializing in people recovering from surgery.

I've actually been doinig some more agressive stretching the past few days and going to PT and wow what a difference a few days makes. Shoulder feels much better...although I'm sure next week its going to feel like crap again and I'll post something else here in my overeaction.

Gotta keep reminding myself that recovery is not like a football game where you only move forward until your fully recovered...its more like a soccer game where sometimes you gotta go backwards to go forward more. Thanks for the advice everyone.
