My name is paige. I'm a MMA cage fighter who has just been diagnosed with a SLAP tear in my right shoulder.
The OS said that surgery was needed.
Is there anyone out there who can tell me what to expect post op? when will i be able to write? How long does recovery take? Was the surgery painful?

I was able to write same day. Everyones recovery differs, and i did not have any pain....others have. recovery...Im 16wks and can get through daily activites and have yet to really push it working out. Sorry if this added to your confusion cause everyone is going to chime in with different responses.

Hey Paige. Don't mean to be negative but I had slap repair on Aug. 19 and am still really struggling. I was able to write the next day or so if I remember. My OS had me in immobilizer for two weeks (he says he usually does 3). Started PT in week three and still have really bad pain everyday. Have gone down on pt to once a week and on steriod dose pac but my doc says this will take 4-6 months for recovery.
